Tata Motors Sierra EV launch this year: Features, expected price and all details

Tata Motors is set to launch the Sierra EV later this year. Tata Motors Managing Director and CEO Shailesh Chandra has confirmed that the electric SUV will arrive in the second quarter of FY2026-27, between July and September 2026.

The announcement puts an end to months of speculation surrounding the Sierra EV’s launch timeline. Built on Tata’s Acti.ev+ platform, the upcoming SUV will share several components with the Tata Harrier EV and will be positioned between the Tata Curvv EV and Harrier EV in the company’s growing EV lineup.

The Sierra EV is expected to be offered with two battery pack options — a 55 kWh unit and a larger 65 kWh pack. The bigger battery is likely to deliver a real-world driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. Tata Motors is also expected to offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants of the SUV.

In terms of features, the Sierra EV is likely to get a triple-screen dashboard setup comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a dedicated display for the front passenger. The SUV is also expected to support DC fast charging along with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) bidirectional charging technology.

Higher variants of the Sierra EV could come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats, and dual-zone climate control. According to reports, Tata Motors may price the electric SUV from around Rs 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Mahindra XEV 9e in the midsize electric SUV segment.
