IHOP offers American-style dining
The International House of Pancakes, better known as IHOP, is a must for pancake lovers. The American restaurant chain is famous for its wide selection of pancakes and other tasty treats. Last year, IHOP opened its first branch in Thailand on the ground floor of Siam Paragon. And it was a big hit.
After this success, the president of King Food Group, Dr. Ausanee Mahagitsiri Leonio, decided to open a second branch in Siam Paragon on the fourth floor. Due to its larger kitchen, the latest branch can serve a greater variety of food, including breakfast sets, burgers and salads.

UP IN THE AIR
The family-friendly restaurant has a cosy ambience, with its high ceiling giving an airy feel. The multi-coloured tables and chairs make for a bright and vibrant eatery. Visitors can choose either low or high chairs or even a comfy sofa to sit on.
BIG BREAKFAST
At IHOP, pancakes are served both as a main dish and a dessert. On the combo menu, there is the Breakfast Sampler (270 baht) and the Split Decision Breakfast (240 baht), which both consist of two fried eggs, two slices of bacon and two sausages served with buttermilk pancakes. However, the Breakfast Sampler comes with two slices of ham while the Split Decision Breakfast has French toast.
SWEET TREATS
From the pancake menu, we tried the Original Buttermilk Pancake (180 baht) and the New York Cheesecake Pancake, which comes topped with strawberries (195 baht). These tasty pancakes were thick but soft. They can be flavoured with three kinds of syrup - maple, strawberry and blueberry. To maintain IHOP’s high standards, the pancake flour is imported from the US. This makes for some special pancakes, especially when they’re served hot.
TIME OF THE SEASON
In order to increase the appeal to Thai customers, the IHOP chefs create customised seasonal menus. In May, mangos make an appearance on pancakes, crepes and waffles. We had the Mango Paradise Pancake (215 baht). The sweetly scented mango went well with the soft pancake, which came served with vanilla ice-cream and fresh whipped cream.

IN THE MAIN
On the entrée menu, we recommend the Fish Florentine (250 baht). Fresh fish is served on a bed of spinach with alfredo sauce. Garlic bread and mashed potato come on the side. Instead of mashed potato, you can opt for potato wedges or French fries. Alternatively, the Chicken Cordon Bleu (255 baht) is a great choice. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It’s stuffed with spinach, ham and Swiss cheese and comes topped with white cheddar cheese sauce. As with the Fish Florentine, you can choose from three potato options.
VEGGIE TABLE
If you’d prefer a non-meat alternative, try the Mushroom Melt (240 baht). This dish is a tasty mix of carefully selected mushrooms and juicy cheese. Since we’re very health conscious at S Weekly, we decided to add more green to our meal with the House Salad (240 baht), which was simple but satisfying. The two bestselling drinks, the Blue Splasher - blue syrup with Sprite - and Green Apple Splasher (both 85 baht) were very refreshing.
LOCAL CREATION
For dessert, chocolate lovers should make sure to try the Chunky Chocolate (240 baht). This special pancake is available only in Thailand because the recipe was created by Dr Ausanee. The delectable dish is rich with a dark chocolate flavour. It’s the perfect finish to a perfect meal.
