Taste of Dublin food festival to make grand return with delicious experiences in store

By Brian Dillon

Taste of Dublin has announced its return to its pre-pandemic "culinary glory" this summer as it takes over The Iveagh Gardens from June 16 to 19.

The food festival is expected to attract around 30,000 people to the small city centre park, offering visitors a multitude of foodie experiences.

One of the attractions of the occasion is the popular NEFF Taste Kitchen, celebrating the best of Irish and hosted by a slew of well-known chefs including Rory O’Connell, Jordan Bailey, JP McMahon, Erica Drum and Derry Clarke. They will share their food inspiration and top tips with audiences while showcasing the best fresh produce from around the country.

There will also be some new exciting restaurants in attendance such as Limerick's The Salt Project and Clare’s Julia’s Lobster Truck and Belfast's Bia Rebel. Also at the event will be Dublin's Chimac and Hakkahan.

Artisan producers will also be on hand including Edizemi Onilenla, the creator of Nigerian food brand Mama Shee and Theresa Roche, producer of Galway’s acclaimed Kylemore Farmhouse Cheeses.

For drinks, there will be the Schweppe's Cocktail Bar which will host mixing masterclasses.

Music will also play a big part in this year's Taste of Dublin celebrations with a Smash Hits, The Swing Cats and Spring Break all providing tunes.

Taste of Dublin CEO Jo Mathews said of the 2022 edition of the event: "It has been a challenging two years, and it really is wonderful to celebrate the event being back to full capacity. I speak for the entire team when I say we are really looking forward to welcoming old and new visitors to the beautiful Iveagh Gardens.

"The aim of the event is to celebrate and highlight the melting pot of food creators and innovators that have burst onto the scene over the past two years. The exciting line up has something for everyone from scrumptious and unique foods; inspirational beverages and cocktails and food inspired cultural experiences. 2022 is set to one of best events yet."

Tickets for Taste of Dublin are available here. Standard entry costs €15 while VIP Garden Passes go for €51. There is also the Garden Pass with two signature dishes for €61.
