Taste of Chicago comes early with a food-filled preview

June 23--It's baaack! Yes, it's that time of summer already: Taste of Chicago, otherwise known as Chicago's massive eat-a-thon, returns for its 35th year July 8-12 in Grant Park.

Can't wait until then? No problem. Hit the Taste of Chicago Preview (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday 6/24 on Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St.) to chow down on food from eight Taste of Chicago participants, with prices ranging from $2.50 to $8 (cash accepted; no tickets required). Here's what's on tap, along with an appearance by chef Graham Elliot:

Chicago's Dog House: Smoked alligator sausage, rattlesnake rabbit sausage, the Midway Monster Dog

Connie's Pizza: Deep dish cheese pizza slice, deep dish sausage pizza slice

Dia De Los Tamales: Slow roasted Cuban pork tamale, Buffalo chicken tamale, spicy black bean corn tamale

Dinky Donuts: Hot fresh dinky with varied toppings: cinnamon sugar, Dutch cocoa, powdered sugar, old fashioned sugar cream pie, ancho mamma's toppings.

Jerk Modern Jamaican Grill: Jerk chicken, jerk fries, Festival (cornbread)

Mariano's: Gelato-vanilla, gelato-Chicago Pothole, lemon sorbetto

Porkchop: Pulled pork sandwich, pulled chicken sandwich, ribs

Robinson's No. 1 Ribs: BBQ rib tips, BBQ pulled pork, boneless rib sandwich
