Tests have cleared Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein of any serious health problems after he was admitted to hospital while feeling unwell.
The Liberal leader was discharged from hospital on Monday afternoon after being taken there from his office earlier in the day.
"There has been understandably a lot of interest and concern about the premier's health," Deputy Premier Jeremy Rockliff told state parliament on Tuesday.
"I have spoken to Peter last night and this morning and he is in very good spirits. He is very appreciative of everyone's concern.
"A series of tests have excluded any serious acute conditions."
Mr Rockliff said Mr Gutwein will take a few days off to rest and recover, with an update on his health and return to work to be provided later this week.
Mr Gutwein, 56, delivered his eighth state budget as treasurer last Thursday.
He became premier in early 2020 when Will Hodgman stepped down mid-term and guided the party to their third straight state election win in May.
Mr Rockliff will assume Mr Gutwein's duties in his absence.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison is among those to have passed on his best wishes.
"Thoughts and prayers are with you Pete and the whole family. Wish you a speedy recovery," he told radio program Tasmania Talks.
