Tasmania can ponder a first innings lead after recovering from a disastrous start against South Australia in the Sheffield Shield.
The Tigers were 3-89 at lunch on day two at Karen Rolton Oval with Charlie Wakim (42) and Ben McDermott (32) the not out batsmen.
After losing two quick wickets to start their innings late on Monday, the visitors started in the worst possible fashion on day two.
Nightwatchman Nathan Ellis (1) was caught sharply by Brad Davis at second slip from the bowling of Chadd Sayers (2-11) to leave Tasmania struggling at 3-15.
But Wakim and McDermott dug in to stem the flow of wickets before opening up their shoulders late in the session.
McDemott found Lloyd Pope (0-25) particularly to his liking, pulling the flame-haired legspinner over midwicket for a six in the 38th over.
South Australia posted a disappointing 195 on day one.
