Tasmania has eased its border restrictions to allow travel from Greater Brisbane but those arriving must undertake quarantine.
Premier Peter Gutwein on Monday announced the region would shift from high-risk status to medium risk effective immediately.
It means people in Greater Brisbane can now travel to the island state but must undertake two weeks' quarantine when they arrive.
"They appear to be right on top of the circumstance there," Mr Gutwein said.
The high-risk declaration, which prevented anyone from Greater Brisbane travelling to Tasmania unless they had special permission, was implemented on January 8 after an outbreak of the UK strain.
Mr Gutwein said a medium risk declaration for Greater Sydney and Wollongong would remain in place for "the time being" despite NSW recording no locally-acquired cases on Monday.
"We need to ensure we are confident there are no growing cases in the community which haven't been detected," Mr Gutwein said.
Tasmania now considers all of Victoria low risk, meaning travellers from the state can arrive without having to quarantine.
Tasmania had labelled several venues and locations linked the Black Rock cluster as hotspots but those declarations have now been lifted.
Mr Gutwein said an update would be provided on Friday and said Greater Brisbane could shift to low risk if case numbers are favourable.
