Task on hands as Bhopal aims to be malnutrition-free in four weeks

BHOPAL: The district administration is working on an ambitious plan to make Bhopal malnutrition-free by November 14. Divisional commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat in a meeting gave pointers to the staff of women & child development department, health and Ayush departments on how to go about achieving the objective in four weeks’ time.

District collector Avinash Lavania was also present.

Kiyawat said that it was necessary to reach at the roots that cause malnutrition to overcome the disease. He said that everyone will have to put in a coordinated attempt to eradicate malnutrition from Bhopal district by November

4. He emphasised on the execution of a three-point action plan to make the parents of malnourished children aware on how to fight malnutrition.

Kiyawat said that anganwadi workers and poshan mitras should take a resolve to look after a malnourished child each. They should look after the malnourished children as they would do to their own children.

The divisional commissioner said that if each capable person takes responsibility of a malnourished child, the problem of malnutrition can be overcome.

Gram sevak, sarpanch, panchayat secretary; all have the responsibility to ensure that no child in their village remains malnourished.
