Australian singer and ARIA winner Tash Sultana has made a heartbreaking announcement, revealing three of their dogs have been bitten by a venomous brown snake, with one passing away and another still at the vet due to complications with the bite.
On Tuesday, the “Jungle” singer revealed that their dog, Chino, had succumbed to the snake bite while another fur baby, Chili, was still at the vet recovering from the incident.
“Over the last five days I have experienced the most traumatic events of my life,” Sultana wrote on Instagram.

“I have never known grief so deep and so profound,” they continued.
“Three of our dogs were bitten by a brown snake. Our little Chino did not make it. Our little Chili is currently on dialysis due to kidney failure from complications of the bite.”
Thankfully, one of the dogs, Billie, survived the attack and was able to return home after the ordeal.
Further in the statement, Sultana went into detail regarding Chino’s death, revealing that the pup was only one when he passed away.
“I’ve never been more broken than when I held his little lifeless body in my hands for the last time and kissed his nose away forever,” Sultana continued.
“This hell is going on and I suppose I’m writing this because I just don’t know what else I’m meant to do.
“Advice on grief and your prayers are welcomed. Little Chili is still fighting. ”
Sultana’s dogs have played a huge part in their recent music journey, with the pups making appearances in their recent Instagram videos promoting their new album Return To The Roots.

Late last year, in September, the singer introduced Chino to their audience, revealing that the miniature dapple daschund was a rescue that was found behind their home.
“Someone dumped him in the alleyway behind our house and he was found by my partner, covered in piss and suffocating, wrapped so tightly in a sheet near the hard rubbish, crying,” they wrote in the September 2024 post.
“Not sure how people can live with themselves doing shit like that, but he’s ours now.”
Sending all of our love and prayers to Tash Sultana and Chili. Rest in peace, Chino.
