Tas man charged with attempted murder

Police found a seriously injured woman at a Swansea property and arrested a man at the scene. (AAP)

A Tasmanian man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was seriously wounded in the state's east.

Officers were called to a property in Swansea, northeast of Hobart, on Friday night to find the injured woman.

A 50-year-old Swansea man, who is believed to be known to the woman, was at the scene and taken into custody.

Detectives on Saturday charged the man with attempted murder, and he will appear in Hobart Magistrates Court on Sunday.
