SCOTLAND fans are already in high spirits in Boston as they gather ahead of this evening’s match against Morocco.
Steve Clarke’s men will take on Morocco on Friday night for the second group stage game, kicking off at 11pm UK time. And some members of the Tartan Army have given their verdicts and predictions for the crucial game, which could lead to Scotland making it to the knock-out stage for the first time.
Patrick Ferry, 26, from Edinburgh, said: “We’re top of a World Cup group. We’re in a position we’ve never been, so we don’t have any expectations.
“We don’t have any pressure, we’ve just got to do our best and hope that maybe the football gods are in favour and that we do something that’s never been done before.”
Ewan Calderwood, 23, said : “I watched the Brazil-Morocco game and I thought Morocco were better than Brazil, so I’m a bit scared, but you never know what can happen, it’s Scotland in the World Cup.
“Hopefully, after the first game, we’ll get the nerves away. Hopefully we’ll come out on top.”
Adam Harvey, 24, said: “I’m confident at getting the result, but it’s probably going to be be a draw, 1-1 I’d say.”
John Lyons, 24, added: “The pressure is off after the Haiti game.
“I reckon the good players like your (John) McGinns and (Scott) McTominays, will have more space for Morocco, we might get a win, might get a draw, but we’ll see what happens.”
Gary Anderson, 45, said: “I’ll take a draw right now. I’d take a point to see us right through, I’d take it right now.”
Deagen Triasci, 54, added: “With the first game won from Haiti, I think one point is enough, I think 0-0, or 1-1.”
Lewis Gow gave Scotland a 100% chance of winning.
The 25-year-old said: “10/10, I’d say 10/10. Morocco bottled it against Brazil.”
His friend Cameron Graham, 25, added: “I’d say six or seven out of 10, I think we’ll do 2-1.”
