Tartan Army fans arrive at Glasgow Green fan zone ahead of Euro 2020 clash with England

Buzzing Scots have arrived at Scotland's fan zone full of optimism ahead of our Euro 2020 crunch clash against the Auld Enemy.

Around 3000 football fans kitted out in tartan and saltires are heading into Glasgow Green before our much anticipated match against England at Wembley.

Fans started entering the arena shortly after 4.30pm singing our classic party songs, 'We'll Be Coming Down The Road' and "We've got McGinn".

Alex Gordon, 33, from Motherwell, said: "I'm buzzing to be here - but nervous at the same time.

"I'm hopeful we can win it and you just never know, it's a one off game."

Asked if he'd rather be watching the game down in London, Alex said: "I'm more happy to be here to be honest.

"Mostly because of the weather to be honest, but to be in Glasgow and be part of this when we're playing England, it's just great.

"I'm hoping for a 1-0 win, I'd take that."

Scott McLean, 24, from Shawlands just a couple of miles from the fan zone said: "It's great to be here - and it's a lot sunnier here than in London.

"But I'm glad to see it's pouring down there, that should give us the advantage.

"I want to see the team sheet first, I feel like we could maybe get a draw. I'd take a draw then to beat Croatia in the final game.

"I'm going 1-0 Scotland, if we can get one early they will just come at us. A goal in the last five minutes would do me."

Scots arriving early were able to catch the other match in Group D, Croatia V Czech Republic which was getting beamed from Hampden Stadium.

At half-time of that game fans were already chanting 'No Scotland, No Party".

Jack Gaffney, 25, travelled from Erskine to be at the fan zone today - and he's just here for a good time.

He said: "It's just great to get out the house for a change to be honest.

"I got the train through this morning to see my pals.

"I'm not too bothered about the result. I'm just here for a drink to be honest.

"It should be a good atmosphere."

Martin Telfer, 44, from Paisley: "It feels good to be here, it would have been a lot better to be down at Wembley.

"But we're happy enough to be here, watching Scotland... in a f***ing tournament!

"I'll be feeling more confident if Steve Clarke doesn't play for a 0-0.

"Let's go at them. You can't tell me that Kalvin Phillips is better than John McGinn or Scott McTominnay. You're having a laugh.

"Scotland will win 2-1. We'll go 2-0 up, then England will score, we'll be s***ng ourselves for about 30 minutes, the toilets will be packed - but we'll do it."
