Tartan Army dad who fell from hotel balcony attacked emergency workers at Euro clash

A Renfrewshire father has admitted to assaulting emergency workers after the Scotland v England Euro 2020 clash at Wembley in June.

Ross Ferris, 27, appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Monday, August 16 where he admitted two counts of assault on an emergency worker, reports the Daily Record.

He was among the thousands of Scotland fans who travelled to London on June 18 to watch the England v Scotland game.

Originally from Erskine in Renfrewshire, the Tartan Army fan now lives in Fife where he was released on bail after his first hearing in Westminster Magistrates Court on July 19.

Mr Ferris was also reported having fallen from the fourth floor of the Corus hotel in Lancaster Gate, where he suffered injuries to his hand.

Mr Ferris is due to return for sentencing on September 27 and is still on bail.

A spokesman for Southwark Crown Court said: "He has pled guilty to two counts, both are counts of assault on an emergency worker.

"He is returning for sentence on September 27 and is on bail still."
