Taron Egerton posts cryptic Instagram photo after rumours he will join Sir Elton John on Glastonbury stage

Welsh actor Taron Egerton has had some impressive Hollywood roles, including playing real-life stars and among them was portraying music legend Sir Elton John in the film Rocketman.

Since then, the pair have struck up a friendship and it has now been rumoured that Taron will be joining Elton on the Glastonbury stage. Elton's Glastonbury performance will mark the final UK show of his current tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, and is expected to be Elton's last ever UK performance.

ITV News entertainment reporter Rishi Davda has now addressed rumours that Taron will be joining Elton. Reporting on the ITV morning show Lorraine from the Glastonbury site, Rishi said: "Sources close to Elton suggest that Taron Egerton could be joining him on stage. Taron played Elton in Rocketman back in 2019, the two stayed in touch, their friends, they've performed together before."

Posting a picture with his friends, Jack Sinclair, Calvin Evans and Alex Cameron, Taron captioned the post: "Looking forward to a quiet weekend with the boys." followed by the eye emoji and celebration emoji.

Some of Taron's fans have guessed in the comments that he might be heading to Glastonbury. One said: "Surprise guest singer with Elton at Glastonbury??" and another added: "You and the boys quiet on a weekend. Lets pretend we believe that when it's Glastonbury weekend." followed by laughing emojis.

Another said: "Why does this make me think he's going to be one of Elton John's special guests" followed by the eyes emoji. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
