Taron Egerton braves Welsh sea swim and shares sweet family tradition as he comes home for Christmas

Taron Egerton loves a trip home to the Welsh town he grew up in and this Christmas is no different as the Black Bird and Rocketman star was in Aberystwyth for the festive season making more memories with his family and taking a dip in the bracing Irish sea.

The 33-year-old, who may have been born in Birkenhead and lived in LlanfairPG as a child, posted to his Instagram that there is 'nowhere he'd rather be' than at home in Aber with his nearest and dearest, including his uncle Phil who makes the Christmas dinner stuffing.

In the sweet post, shared on Christmas Day, the Golden Globe-winning star wrote: "I'm making braised red cabbage. My uncle Phil (86) is preparing the turkey with his signature stuffing. Just like he has since I was a little boy. Nowhere I would rather be."

It is absolutely the centre of the universe for me. It's where my heart lies, I think of it every day."

This year saw Taron star in the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ show Black Bird opposite Ray Liotta and briefly appearing in the West End in Cock, before sadly leaving the production for personal reasons. you can read more on that here.

In 2023, though, he has a number of projects due to be released including the film version of Tetris and thriller Carry On opposite Jason Bateman. He'll also be returning to Apple TV with Firebug which he will star in and executive produce.
