Tarik Cohen wishes Jordan Howard would get chance to tackle him

Sunday’s game against the Eagles will be a reunion of sorts for some Bears players who will face former teammate Jordan Howard for the first time since he was traded to Philadelphia last March.

But there’s no one looking more forward to playing against Howard than the lightning to his thunder, Tarik Cohen.

Cohen, who remains close with Howard to this day, said that he’s looking forward to the reunion.

He only wishes that he and Howard would get a chance to be on the field at the same time. That way Howard would get a chance to tackle him — not, Cohen insisted, that Howard would be able to.

The Bears are hoping that Cohen makes those Eagles defenders that will be trying to tackle him miss.

Chicago’s offense, which finally found its run game last week against the Chargers, will be looking to improve on their redzone efficiency, particularly with goal-to-go.

For Howard’s replacement, rookie running back David Montgomery is coming off his first 100-yard game against the Chargers, where he had 27 carries for 135 yards and one touchdown. He’ll be looking to continue that production against a stout Eagles run defense that ranks eighth in yards per game with 90.5.
