Tara Reid says she was drugged at a hotel bar in the Chicago area after a video showed the actress being taken out on a stretcher early Sunday. The footage, obtained by TMZ, captured a group of people struggling to lift the nearly unconscious “American Pie” star, 50, into a wheelchair in the hotel lobby.
Reid appeared disoriented in the clip. She wore a tan fur coat, her hair unkempt, and leaned heavily on a man as her face pressed into his shoulder. Once seated, she mumbled incoherently, and her head drifted from side to side. “Come on, guys,” the “Sharknado” actress said as the men tried to steady her.

When one man began to push her through the lobby, Reid’s body suddenly went limp. She slid halfway out of the chair, exposing her midriff, and several people rushed to lift her back into place. Moments later, the video cut to paramedics transporting her out of the building on a stretcher. TMZ reported she was taken to a nearby hospital.

A representative for Reid told Page Six in a statement, “Tara Reid has filed a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with. She is cooperating fully with the investigation.” The rep added, “Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch their drinks, and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”
Officers responded to an EMS call at the hotel on Sunday morning, and the patient was transported to the hospital. The department said it has not received a report supporting claims that Reid was drugged.
Reid later told TMZ she had checked into her room late Saturday before heading downstairs to order a drink at the hotel bar. After placing her order, she said she stepped outside to smoke and encountered a group of YouTubers. One joined her outside. When she returned to the bar, she noticed that her drink was now covered with a napkin she had not placed there.
According to Reid, she removed the napkin and consumed the drink. The next thing she remembers is waking up in the hospital. “Without finishing my drink, I just passed out. Before I knew it, I was at the hospital, eight hours later. It’s really scary … You have to really be careful with your drink.
[The hospital] said, ‘You got drugged last night at the bar.’” Reid, who has spoken publicly about past struggles with substance use, told the outlet she had only one drink that night.
