Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will meet tomorrow to discuss Brexit, it has emerged.
The meeting will be held at lunchtime on Thursday in the northwest of England.
The Liverpool Echo reports it will be held in the city of Liverpool and adds: "The idea of Liverpool being seen as a potentially 'neutral' venue by Mr Johnson could come as a shock to Scousers - who have a difficult history with the Prime Minister."
An official media advisory issued by the Irish Government's press office read: "This will be a private meeting to allow both leaders and their teams to have detailed discussions about the process for securing agreement for a Brexit deal."
Yesterday it was reported that Mr Johnson would meet Mr Varadkar either on Thursday or Friday this week following a phone call between the two leaders.

Initially the meet was touted for Dublin, but today it was confirmed it will be in northwest England.
The British Prime Minister spoke with the Fine Gael leader yesterday hours after German Chancellor Angela Merkel reportedly branded a Brexit deal "overwhelmingly unlikely" weeks out from the October 31 deadline.
That 8am phone call was described as a "clarifying moment" by a Downing Street source, the Mirror reported.
