Taoiseach hails return of outdoor activities as he visits Dublin Zoo

The Taoiseach was one of the first people in attendance as Dublin Zoo reopened their doors this morning.

As a result of the Government's easing of restrictions coming into effect, outdoor tourist attractions like Dublin Zoo, Fota Wildlife Park and heritage sites were allowed welcome visitors from this morning.

Thousands of people were scrambling for tickets over the weekend, with many people having to wait until the next slots become available next week.

Micheál Martin hailed the new rules as "a great lift"

He tweeted: "Really enjoyed my visit to Dublin Zoo today - a great lift to see outdoor attractions like the zoo and Fota Wildlife open again."

We have been given a few hints as to what will come.
