Tanya's carb-loaded makeup

Comedian and former Canberra radio star Tanya Hennessy is becoming something of a makeup maven, with her collections gaining a cult following.

Her second collaboration launches on Friday in Priceline pharmacy stores and online, cheekily carb-themed and all about "fun and escapism" in these otherwise serious times.

The Carb Collection Again follows her first makeup collection in 2019, which saw customers line up outside Priceline stores and the products sold out online in just 48 hours.

The makeup line is a collaboration between Priceline pharmacy's beauty brand Models Prefer and Hennessy, who was the breakfast co-host on Hit 104.7 for 20 months before leaving in 2017.

The six products have playful names such as the Donuts for Dinner and How Good are Croissants? eyeshadow and the no-nonsense I Can't Apply False Lashes mascara. The carb-theme was chosen because "it's fun, silly, and who doesn't like carbs?".

"Also, donuts are bright, and croissants are neutral, so it was perfect," she said.

"We thought about bringing How Good is Bread ?back (from my first collection from 2019) - but we had done that, so croissants were the next step up! Next ... PASTA."

Hennessy reckons "life is hard, your cosmetics shouldn't be".

"Fun and escapism is something we all need more of, especially when it comes to makeup, plus permission to be playful and joyful," she said.

The Donuts for Dinner and How Good are Croissants? palettes are new launches, and the bestselling waterproof mascara, I Can't Apply False Lashes in Midnight Snack is back following its sell-out success. The range also includes four new lip balms, glosses and glazes with names such as Peach for the Stars.

"The product names scream 'A-NORMAL-PERSON-DID-THIS-MAKEUP-LINE'. People will froth at the beauty, the fun and the function"," she said.

Hennessy has had a busy year, also launching her first children's book.

She says it's surreal to have her own makeup line.

"I loved the process and how much I learnt," she said.

"I wanted to make sure it was as inclusive as possible, so I made sure I did a lot of research into shades and complexion. I loved every step, and Models Prefer did so much hard work on this too, making sure it was perfect.

"It's been one of the most joyful experiences of my life and I am really proud of it. How many people make croissant eye shadow palettes in their lifetimes? I'm one bloody lucky gal."
