Tanya Bardsley banned from Ladies Day Style Award after trying to enter a matching tiger print horse

Tanya Bardsley doesn’t do things by halves when it comes to style, and today she upped the ante with her latest fashion accessory - a horse.

But it wasn’t just any old nag, but a steed that perfectly matched her Ladies Day outfit for this year’s Aintree Racecourse event.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star teamed up with the mare, called Lucky, to stand out from the crowd at with this season’s fashion must-have - tiger print.

It looks like Tanya's narrow escape on tonight's 5Star show Celebs On the Ranch, where she can be seen being flung from a horse, has not deterred her from her love of fillies.

Tanya said: “Ladies Day at Aintree is one of the most important days in my social calendar, who doesn’t like getting dressed up?”

The mum-of-four, who is currently starring in the ninth series of the RHOC along with Dawn Ward, revealed that she’d decided to ditch designer names for the “ultimate accessory”.

Both Tanya and the equine rocked the striped pattern look, which was inspired by Tiger Roll, a horse favourite to win its race at the event on Saturday.

But she failed at the first hurdle when she was banned from entering the Style Award competition because, you guessed it, horses weren’t allowed to enter.

Tanya, 37, approached William Hill with the haute couture concept last month after being inspired by this season’s fashion must-have, tiger print.

The bookie briefed horse barber Melody Hames to create a one-off design to match Tanya’s Ladies Day look.

Melody said: “Tanya wanted a design that matched her Ladies Day outfit. I have to admit it’s one of the strangest requests I’ve ever had, but I never back down from a challenge.

Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Tanya Bardsley has viewers in stitches over ‘meme’ fail and ‘ham butty’ dig

“Lucky loves getting her hair cut and the attention of people, she’s as much a diva as Tanya, to be honest.”

Tiger Roll (4/1) leads the way in the stakes for this year’s Grand National as he looks to become the first horse to go back-to-back in the Grand National since Red Rum in 1973/74.
