Tanguy Ndombele's warm-up routine and the Tottenham wonderkid training ahead of RB Leipzig test

Tottenham return to action on Tuesday evening as they take on RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash.

Jose Mourinho's side trail 1-0 from the first game in N17 and they really are going to have to be at their best if they want to progress to the final eight of the competition.

The Spurs squad trained at Hotspur Way on Monday morning prior to flying out to Leipzig and the media were allowed to watch the first 15 minutes of the session.

Here are five things we learned from training.

Burnley 1-1 Spurs: Full Jose Mourinho press conference

Club legend present

There was a surprise face on the training pitch at Hotspur Way as the Spurs team made their way out of the dressing room.

It was indeed club legend Ledley King as he walked out with the players and the coaching team.

The former defender did have a quick word with academy graduates Japhet Tanganga, Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp before making his way onto the field.

King kept a watchful eye on proceedings as the team went through a number of different exercises as they warmed up for their training session before flying out to Germany later this afternoon.

Youngster training

One of the club's academy players was also called upon for training at Hotspur Way.

Malachi Walcott has trained alongside the first team a number of times already this season but he has yet to be included in a matchday squad.

The talented defender waited alongside Parrott, Skipp and Tanganga and chatted to his fellow youngsters before the squad made their way out onto the pitch after initially playing a bit of Teqball just outside the entrance to the changing rooms.

Who Ndombele trained with

Saturday's draw at Burnley was a night to forget for Tanguy Ndombele as he was hooked after 45 minutes.

The Frenchman failed to have an impact on proceedings and Mourinho had clearly seen enough as he switched things about.

The Tottenham players had split into two groups for their warm-ups as the players who had played at Turf Moor trained a few yards apart from the ones who hadn't.

Ndombele was in the latter group as he joined the likes of Parrott, Walcott, Harry Winks, Serge Aurier, Ryan Sessegnon and Gedson Fernandes to do some shuttle runs.

Skipp also made way at the break against Burnley but he was in the first group, as was Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso who had only played 45 minutes after coming on at half-time.

Kane appears

A familiar face was back on the training pitch at Hotspur Way.

Harry Kane has been out injured since the start of the year after injuring his hamstring at Southampton and he isn't due to return until the final few weeks of the season.

The England captain is now doing his on-field rehabilitation and he appeared about 10 minutes after his teammates to work with one of the coaching staff on the far side.

Spurs fans are desperate to see Kane back on the pitch and hopefully that will be sooner rather than later as they look to finish the season on a positive.

Players in the gym

Mourinho pretty much had the vast majority of his players on the training pitch apart from those long-term absentees.

However, Steven Bergwijn was one of those missing at Hotspur Way after limping off the pitch after the full-time whistle against Burnley.

Ben Davies and Juan Foyth were also not amongst the rest of the squad but they trained in the gym as they look to return to action as soon as possible.
