Tanguy Ndombele has issued an update on his fitness following his substitution in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
Making a big impression for the Lilywhites in recent weeks, the Frenchman was replaced at the break by Harry Winks due to a groin issue.
Amid concerns over the player's fitness given his half-time substitution, the summer signing linked up with his France teammates at Clairefontaine on Monday morning ahead of their games against Moldova and Albania.
Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps spoke to the press about the midfielder and he claimed that Ndombele's issue isn't too serious.
"It’s not very bad, he has a little worry that should be resolved within 48 hours," he told French publication L'Equipe .
"If I had uncertainty, I would have made the decision (to call someone else up), but that’s not the case.”
The same newspaper then published quotes from the player himself later on Tuesday and he played down concerns over his fitness.
"I had tests that said there was nothing serious, it was more fatigue," he said . "What is certain is that I am fit for Sunday. Thursday may be a little early, I don’t think I’ll be 100%."
It's certainly positive news for Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs as they need the ex-Lyon man at his best for their upcoming games given their recent struggles in the Premier League.
Clearly concerned about Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon playing for their respective countries over the international break after their injury problems this term, the manager will be hoping that Ndombele isn't used by Deschamps as he will want him fit and firing for when the team take on West Ham once league action resumes.
