Tanfield accelerates after electric van link-up with Ford

Tanfield, the platform access and electric vehicle group, has made another positive announcement this morning, after Friday's upbeat trading statement.

The company has unveiled a long awaited deal with Ford to develop electric vans for the north American commercial vehicle market. Tanfield already works with Ford's European operation to produce commercial electric vehicles based on the Transit and Transit Connect chassis.

On Friday the company said it was trading at break-even on a monthly basis, before restructuring costs, and also announced a new US joint venture.

Today's news of the deal with Ford has seen the company's shares jump 3.27p to 11p
