Tanesha Melbourne-Blake shooting: Fourth man arrested on suspicion of murder almost a year after teenager killed in north London

The girl, named locally as Tanesha, was shot dead in a suspected drive-by shooting while chatting with friends

A 50-year-old man has become the fourth person to be arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenage girl was shot dead in north London nearly a year ago.

The suspect was arrested on Monday morning over the death of Tottenham schoolgirl Tanesha Melbourne-Blake.

The 17-year-old teen was shot on Charlgrove Road, Tottenham, on April 2 last year.

It comes after three other men were also arrested in connection with the teen's death.

A 31-year-old man was arrested a few days after Miss Melbourne-Blake’s death, on April 6, and was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Two other men, an 18-year-old and a 22-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this year on March 14.

Scotland Yard said the 18-year-old had been released under investigation and the 22-year-old has been released on bail until mid-April.

Miss Melbourne-Blake had been described as a “beautiful person inside and out” by a friend.

Akim Akintola said: “Anyone that had the opportunity to meet her would say she had such a good heart”.

Officers confirmed enquiries remain ongoing.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact the incident room on 020 8358 0100 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
