Tanaiste Leo Varadkar joked Simon Harris was making him feel old after sharing a school throwback picture.
The Minister for Further and Higher Education shared a picture of himself starting school 20 years ago.
The photo dates back to September 1990 as he got ready to start out his journey in education.
The Minister tweeted: "Thinking of all the children who started school in recent days and their families. An exciting time for them all but I know a more difficult time than usual owing to #Covid19. Came across this photo recently of my first day in school! From September 1990!"
Joking about the picture, Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar said: "You started school in 1990! Am feeling very middle-aged now."
Former Minister for Health Simon Harris is only 33 years of age having being born on October 17, 1986.
He is eight years younger than his colleague Mr Varadkar who is 41.
Wicklow native Harris has been a TD since 2011 when he was just 24.
