Tan Lan Bakery opens new Colwyn Bay store - with cafe set to follow

A popular craft bakery has launched a new shop in Colwyn Bay - with a cafe also set to open.

Tan Lan Bakery has had a tough 14 months due to the pandemic - with lockdown hitting its Conwy site as well as the restaurants and cafes it supplies.

But it is bouncing back strongly with the hospitality sector in Wales now reopening and the Conwy store trading again.

Now the brand has opened a second bakery shop on the corner of Abergele Road and Greenfield Road in Colwyn Bay. A cafe is also due to open next to the store.

Shop manager Hollie Wilton-Jones said: “The wholesale and the store side has been affected by Covid but things are really picking up now and staff are enjoying things being open again.

“The business saw an opportunity in Colwyn Bay and particularly this part of the town because there are a lot of businesses here but not many bakeries or cafes.

“It’s a really good corner location with a lot of passing trade.

“The opening of the bakery has created four jobs and a cafe will also open next to the shop, with hopefully more roles there.”
