Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans channels LeBron James during touchdown celebration

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers stunned the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday by beating the reigning NFC champions 55-40. Early in the fourth quarter–after the Rams trimmed the Bucs lead to 38-27–Tampa quarterback Jameis Winston connected on a 67-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Mike Evans. The score helped blow the game open and give the Buccaneers a 45-27 lead with 11:35 remaining in the contest.

To accentuate the pivotal score, Evans channeled LeBron James in his touchdown celebration. After slowing up on the goal to demonstrate just how wide open he became on the play, Evans walked into the endzone for six. He then broke out LeBron’s signature two-handed, high-knee strut to celebrate the play. The Buccaneers tweeted the highlight of Evans doing specifically that at LeBron on Monday and James replied by offering his respect to the “young king.”

Last summer, the Buccaneers posted a video of Evans arguing with teammates on behalf of James in the never-ending LeBron vs. Kobe debate so you know he’s a fan. Throughout his career on the gridiron, the six-year, 26-year-old wideout has collected over 400 receptions for 6,471 yards and 44 touchdowns. The win on Sunday moved Evans’ team to 2-2 on the young season and second-place in the NFC South Division. Next up for Tampa is a matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
