Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-Chairman Ed Glazer doubles down in Montecito

July 04--Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-Chairman Ed Glazer has purchased a nine-acre estate in Montecito for $21.5 million. The seller was Fred Lukas, the former chief executive of Trident Data Systems.

Built in French Provencal style in 2001, the main residence features formal living and dining rooms, a media room, an office, a study, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in about 12,900 square feet of space. A detached guesthouse adds two more bedrooms and a full bathroom.

Elsewhere on the sprawling grounds is a greenhouse, a tennis court, a swimming pool, a pond, rolling lawns and an orchard. A large motor court and a four-car garage marks the entrance to the home, reached by a gated drive.

Lukas and his wife, Joyce, originally asked as much as $34 million for the home in 2012. More recently, it was priced at $22 million.

Suzanne Perkins of Sotheby's International Realty was the listing agent. Riskin Associates at Village Properties, an affiliate of Christie's International Realty, represented Glazer and his wife, Shari, in the sale.

The purchase follows Glazer's February acquisition of a bordering estate for $15 million.

Formerly owned by architect James Nigro, the Mediterranean-style home sits on 3.52 acres with a six-bedroom main house, a two-bedroom guesthouse, a swimming pool, a cabana and a tennis court.

Both properties take in views of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez mountains.

Riskin Associates at Village Properties handled both ends of the February transaction.

Glazer is the son of Malcolm Glazer, the late businessman and owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Manchester United sports teams. He currently serves as a co-chairman of the Buccaneers with his siblings Bryan and Joel, and is a co-president of the Glazer Family Foundation.

In addition to his Ventura County holdings, Glazer and his wife own a 17,000-square-foot home in gated Beverly Park that they purchased in 2012 for $19.5 million.
