In the latest development in the romance that has overrun our timelines, Tammy Hembrow has officially name-dropped Bailey Smith, describing him as a “sweetie” and a “good guy”.
ICYMI, the Aussie influencer and AFL star have been romantically linked since early-August, when they were spotted enjoying a meal together in the Gold Coast.
In the media frenzy that ensued, Hembrow’s ex Matt Zukowski shared his thoughts and fans posed theories around her cryptic TikTok posts, but the fanfare has only increased with Hembrow’s recent mention of her rumoured new boo.
The comments came while Hembrow was visiting Smith’s hometown of Melbourne for a fashion event on Wednesday.
In a statement that I can only imagine was delivered with a wink, Hembrow told the Herald Sun she was in the city “for a few things… a little work, a little play”.
“A little bit of both,” Hembrow added.
They say you shouldn’t mix business and pleasure, but when your pleasure looks like Bailey goddamn Smith, exceptions can be made.
Thankfully for all us rabidly curious divas, Hembrow didn’t stop there, since she mentioned Smith by name for the first time since news of their apparent romance broke.
“I’m not going to say anything about Bailey except he’s a sweetie, he’s a good guy,” she continued.
Is it the candid tell-all that all us inquisitive (and slightly horny) onlookers were hoping for? No. But it’s enough of a morsel to sustain us until the next development drops.
Hembrow didn’t officially confirm the pair are an item, with “sweetie” and “good guy” just murky enough to keep us guessing.
For his part, Smith has name-dropped Hembrow before, correcting a reporter earlier this month when they mispronounced her surname.
It all comes after the pair were spotted again in the Gold Coast on August 17, with Smith this time seen holding his arm around Hembrow.
Meanwhile, Hembrow announced her split from Love Island alum Zukowski in June, which itself brought on an avalanche of headlines.
It remains to be seen whether Hembrow and Smith will officially confirm their status, or whether this is simply a case of the internet losing its shit whenever two extremely attractive people share the same airspace (see: Zoë Kravitz and Austin Butler).
If they do make it official, I’ve already patented the couple name Bammy.
