Tammy Abraham transfer battle sees Arsenal in four-way fight to land Chelsea outcast

Arsenal find themselves with plenty of competition as they aim to land Chelsea's Tammy Abraham this summer.

The Blues forward is set for the exit door with opportunities under Thomas Tuchel coming at a premium.

Romelu Lukaku's imminent arrival means game time is going to limited even further.

The Gunners are aiming to bolster their forward ranks with doubts over the future of Alexandre Lacazette.

Abraham has been identified as a target having proven his ability to score goals in the top flight.

However Chelsea are demanding £40m for the 23-year-old and have expressed no interest in a loan move.

Southampton and West Ham are both joining Arsenal in the the race for Abraham, as are Italian side Atalanta.

The Saints have cash to spend having just allowed Danny Ings to join Aston Villa.

They are looking to sign Blackburn's Adam Armstrong, but could also add Abraham.

West Ham meanwhile have maintained their interest in the Blues forward, reports the Daily Mail, having been linked with him at the start of the summer.

Atalanta have newly entered the race but can afford Abraham having allowed several players to leave for hefty fees.

Chelsea were willing to let their academy graduate join Borussia Dortmund as they used him as bait in a deal for Erling Haaland.

The Germans though were not interested which has led the Blues to explore other avenues.

Lukaku is now poised to return to Stamford Bridge, seven years after leaving permanently for Everton.

Since then he has been prolific at the Toffees, Manchester United and most recently Inter Milan.

A club record £97.5m deal is set to convince the Italians, who are in trouble financially, to sell their star man.

Tuchel attempted to remain tight-lipped when quizzed on the Belgian striker last week.

He said: "I will not talk about players who don’t play in my squad,

"Romelu Lukaku is a fantastic player but he’s a player from Inter and with all due respect, I will not talk about him in this situation."

He then added: "Everybody wants to come (to Chelsea)!

"Well, not everybody unfortunately but you can imagine that a lot of players want to come and join, but like I said, we don’t comment on that."

Lukaku was signed by the Blues back in 2012 but rarely featured before he was sold on.

Tuchel has compatriot Timo Werner as another striker option but saw Olivier Giroud leave Stamford Bridge for AC Milan.
