Abraham set to make big decision
Arsenal are 'still in the race' to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this month, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Reports have emerged over the last few days that the Blues striker is closing in on a move to the Italian capital this month, despite interest from the Gunners.
However, the north London side are still in contention to sign Abraham, it has been claimed, with Roma and Chelsea already agreeing a €40million (plus add-ons) deal.
But Abraham has not accepted yet, despite Jose Mourinho personally calling him to try and take him to Roma.
Shearer reveals Arsenal 'surprise'
Alan Shearer has admitted he was "surprised" by Arsenal's lack of knowledge going into the Brentford game on Friday evening.
Shearer thinks it was obvious what the Bees would set out to do at the Brentford Community Stadium - and they managed to do it, with Thomas Frank's side winning 2-0 on the night.
"Most people want to swerve the teams that have just come up, because you know what it is going to be like. It is something new to them, they will create a great atmosphere and they will all be up for it," Shearer said on BBC 5Live.
"That was the big surprise for me, with Arsenal, you know that is going to happen, you know you are going to get closed down, and they will throw everything at you.
"Arsenal just looked underprepared for all of what was thrown at them and they just couldn't handle it. Brentford were amazing and they deserved to win the game and get three points.
"I know Arsenal had some big players missing and they could have made a huge difference, but they still had the same old problems.
"Defensively, they looked so poor and I was a bit surprised with Arsenal, because you know what is coming, just get ready for it, and they weren't."
Update on striker duo
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are both doubts for Arsenal's Premier League game against Chelsea on Sunday, football.london understands.
The duo were both absent from Friday night's loss to Brentford through illness, and it is understood that they are unlikely to feature in seven days' time against the Blues.
Folarin Balogun and Gabriel Martinelli both started for the Gunners on Friday, with Eddie Nketiah sidelined through an injury until the end of the month.
Mikel Arteta didn't go into too much detail when asked about Aubameyang and Lacazette before the match on Friday.
"[Aubameyang and Lacazette] feel unwell, that's all I can say. Instead of thinking of excuses, we think of solutions so that's what we will do today," the Arsenal boss told Sky Sports.
