Tammy Abraham sends message to Chelsea team-mates after Southampton win

Tammy Abraham praised his Chelsea teammates and the coaching staff at Stamford Bridge after maintaining his scoring streak in the 4-1 victory against Southampton.

The 22-year-old took his tally in the Premier League to eight goals in eight matches so far this season, putting him joint-top of the scoring chart alongside Manchester City superstar Sergio Aguero.

Lofting the ball over Angus Gunn to open the scoring for the Blues on the South Coast, Abraham 's latest goal capped off a fantastic week for the young forward.

Scoring in the midweek Champions League victory over Lille, Abraham's fine form has seen him earn a recall to Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers.

After the match, Abraham spoke about his week to remember and was humble in his response, directing attention towards the work that those around him contribute.

“It’s been fantastic. I give it to my teammates, the manager, the staff, everyone who has believed in me, they’re always providing me chances and when you play with such great players, you always get chances," he told Sky Sports.

Abraham's goal was provided by fellow Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi, who made his first Premier League start of the season following an Achilles injury, and Abraham's analysis of the goal suggests a partnership could be brewing that should make Chelsea fans excited.

“I knew Callum was going to play the ball first time, so I was ready. I ran in behind, I saw myself get a touch on it to get it over the keeper and thankfully that’s what I did.”
