Tammy Abraham sends message ahead of Wolves after Chelsea's FA Cup win against Luton Town

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is urging his team-mates to take confidence from the FA Cup win against Luton Town as the Blues look to get their Premier League campaign back on track.

The Blues recorded a comfortable 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge against Championship side Luton, with Abraham netting a hat-trick as Chelsea sealed a place in the last 16, where they will travel to face Barnsley.

It was a much-needed win for under-pressure Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and his side, with the Blues losing three of their last five games in the Premier League, which has seen them fall to ninth in the table.

As a result, Chelsea are now 11 points behind league leaders Manchester United at the halfway stage of the Premier League season, while the Blues are five behind fourth-placed Liverpool and three behind Everton in sixth.

The Toffees have two games in hand on Chelsea though, with Lampard's men currently facing a battle to try and qualify for European football again next season.

And ahead of the midweek visit of Wolves, Abraham said the win against Luton was an important one for him and the Blues.

“Obviously it is great to score a hat-trick and to win the game so comfortably," he said, speaking to the BBC after the game.

“Credit to Luton, they are a good side, but we had to build our confidence back and go back to the normal routine of what we are good at, and that’s what we did today.

“It is always nice to get a win and to play well as well, so hopefully we can build on it from now.

“We have got another game on Wednesday, so hopefully we can take that confidence into that game on Wednesday too.”
