Tammy Abraham delivers verdict on Hakim Ziyech to Chelsea transfer after £38m deal agreed

Chelsea have agreed a deal in principle for Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech, according to reports.

According to Dutch newspaper  De Telegraaf, the Blues have verbally agreed a €45millon (£38m) deal in principle to sign the playmaker in the summer.

After a quiet January transfer window in which Frank Lampard was desperate to sign attacking reinforcements, the Blues had targeted the Moroccan international as a priority summer signing.

Manchester United and Arsenal were also reportedly interested, but the report claims negotiations are only taking place with Chelsea and Ajax would prefer to sell to the west London club.

With a deal appearing to be close, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has taken to social media to deliver his verdict on the deal.

On Instagram, the account @433 posted a picture of Ziyech with the caption: 'Ajax and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of @hziyech this summer.'

And Abraham seemingly gave his approval to the deal, by liking the picture.

Last season, Ziyech's performances on the European stage were matched by his domestic achievements as he helped Ajax win the Eredivisie title and the KNVB cup.

The midfielder also claimed the club’s Player of the Year award, after netting 21 goals and 24 assists in 49 games.

Speaking last summer, Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars confirmed the club would eventually allow him to leave.

"He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League," he said.

"Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer."
