Tammy Abraham delivers his verdict on Frank Lampard to Chelsea talk

Tammy Abraham believes there is no better man than Frank Lampard to take over at Chelsea this summer.

The Derby County boss is the clear favourite to succeed Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge this summer, after the Italian left west London to join Juventus earlier this month.

And Abraham, who is set to return to Chelsea this summer after a season-long loan at Aston Villa, has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of working with the Blues legend, amid reports that Lampard could become the next man in the hotseat at Stamford Bridge in the near future.

"I believe in myself and there is no better guy to play under as well," said Abraham, speaking after England's U21 side exited the European U21 Championships.

"Someone you have grown up watching, who has been at Chelsea for ever. He knows about me as well. I played against his team in the play-off final. I am pretty sure he knows all about me."

If Lampard is appointed at Chelsea, he is likely to bring assistant manager Jody Morris with him as well, which Abraham would also welcome, having worked with the former Blues midfielder during his time working within Chelsea's youth set up as U18 boss.

"And Jody as well. I have obviously been coached by Jody in the younger age groups. So it is all positive, it is all positive," said Abraham.

Lampard is currently on holiday, but is expected to be back with Derby on July 1 for the start of pre-season, before they head on a pre-season tour to America.

It means that the Blues are going to have to make their move this week to try to secure the services of Lampard.
