Woman given third dose of Covid jab
A 70-year-old woman has claimed that she was given a third dose of Covid vaccine when she visited a vaccination centre mistaking it as a health camp to get treatment for joint pain in Villupuram. Sivakumar said her mother Krishnamma got the first jab in June and the second 10 days ago.
She was suffering from joint pain. Learning that a camp was underway at a school in the locality she visited it. Sivakumar said healthcare workers at the camp did not bother to check if she came for Covid jab or details of her first and second dose of vaccine.
“I brought the issue to the notice of the district revenue and health officials. They told us to visit Tindivanam government general hospital," said Sivakumar.
District deputy director (health) S Porkodi said she was not aware of a woman given a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the district. However, she said the patient need not panic as there will not be any issue due to the third dose.
