TRICHY: Minister for municipal administration, urban and water supply K N Nehru on Sunday held a review meeting to ascertain the progress of projects under the Smart Cities Mission and other infrastructure proposals made by Trichy corporation.
Corporation sources said that the discussion focussed on new infrastructure proposals in the city.
The minister was apprised about the redevelopment plan of the Kollankulam tank in E Pudur as a leisure site.
The civic body has prepared a proposal to store the surplus rainwater in a 47-acre tank and develop the bunds as a leisure site.
The minister was also updated about the plan to convert abandoned stone quarries in Karumandapam and Periyamilagupaarai as common storage tanks to store rainwater.
