TIRUNELVELI: A hotelier in Tirunelveli promoted his business by offering free tomatoes to customers who purchased Biriyani.
G Samuel Raj, 26, the owner of the eatery in Udayarpatti in the city had offered half a kilogram of tomatoes free with every biryani and a barter deal in which he would offer a biryani in exchange to a kilogram of tomatoes.
After circulating the offer in the social media on Wednesday evening he was flooded with calls after announcing the offer for two days – Thursday and Friday.
“Nobody brought tomatoes to us. There was heavy demand and the 80 biryanis I made sold like hot cakes despite the heavy downpour,” he said.
