TRICHY: The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department opened a spiritual book stall on the premises of Arulmigu Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam in Trichy on Friday.
In addition to the sales of spiritual books, the stall would collect donations starting from 50 from devotees to sustain the free food scheme (Annadhanam) being carried out at the temple. The bookstall was opened by temple joint commissioner S Marimuthu near Rangavilasa Mandapam. To encourage reading habits among the devotees and to inform people of the temple’s history, the HR&CE department has displayed books in both Tamil and English for sale.
