Virudhunagar: At least nine people including five women were killed and several others injured in an explosion at a private firecracker factory in Ramu Devanpatti near Vembakottai in Virudhunagar on Saturday.
The injured have been admitted to Sivakasi Government Hospital.
Firefighters and releif services are engaged in the rescue operation.
