TRICHY: The fact that the state has maintained law and order well has attracted investments from various quarters, and this bears testimony to the fact that Tamil Nadu remains a haven for all, chief minister M K Stalin has said.
After completing his two-day visit to delta districts to inspect desilting works carried out in irrigation canals and water bodies, the chief minister addressed the press at Trichy international airport on Tuesday evening.
When asked about the opposition leader Edappadi Palaniswami's accusation that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu has been deteriorating, Stalin refuted the allegations.
"As a leader of the opposition, he has a habit of blaming the ruling government. So, he has been taking on various issues on a daily basis. After the DMK came to power, the state has not witnessed any incidents of riots, caste-based clashes, and gun shootings. The fact that the state has well maintained the law and order, has attracted investments from various quarters. This bears testimony to the fact that Tamil Nadu remains a haven for all," he said.
When asked about BJP president K Annamalai's allegations against the ruling regime, Stalin said, "Annamalai does politics and we are working for the welfare of the people."
While replying to a question that whether all the 25,000 government employees who retired on Tuesday from their services would get their retirement benefits immediately, the chief minister said they were working on the matter.
