Tami Nadu govt picks six senior lawyers to argue its cases in Madras high court

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has appointed a panel of six designated senior advocates to represent the state before the principal and Madurai bench of the Madras high court.

The panel comprises senior advocates P S Raman, M K Kabir, N R Elango and P Wilson for the principal bench and senior advocates M Ajmal Khan and Isaac Mohanlal for the Madurai bench.

The GO dated June 17 has been passed based on the recommendation of the advocate-general R Shunmugasundaram. According to the GO, the senior counsel will be entitled to professional fees payable to the additional advocates general of the high court. The department which engages the services of the senior counsel will settle the fees payable.
