Tamara Ecclestone and Frank Lampard 'robbed of £26million in jewellery and cash'

An international gang stole £26million in “fabulous jewellery and cold, hard cash” from the homes of F1 heiress Tamara Ecclestone and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, a court heard.

Four people, branded the raiders’ “supporting cast”, are on trial, including a Romanian call-girl who allegedly posted a picture of herself with a stolen necklace.

Isleworth crown court, in West London, heard the alleged burglars, who can’t be named for legal reasons, struck three times last December.

At Ms Ecclestone’s mansion near Kensington Palace they took goods worth £25million.

They also stole valuables worth £60,000 from Lampard’s Chelsea home and scooped a £1million haul from late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

London-based Alexandru Stan, 49, Sorin Marcovici, 53, Bogdan Savastru, 30 and his mother Maria Mester, 47, deny conspiracy.

Timothy Cray, prosecuting, said: “Every star needs a supporting cast and... this is how these defendants stand.”

He added that nearly all the haul, “mainly in fabulous jewellery and cold, hard cash”, had vanished.

The trial continues.
