Tamannaah Bhatia: Want to watch Brahmastra in theatres because it is a spectacle

After five long years in the making, Ayan Mukerji along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will premiere their film 'Brahmastra' to the audience. With the film already amassing Rs 20-25 crore in advance bookings, the team is reportedly looking forward to a strong opening weekend at the box office.

Besides fans lining up to catch the film on the big screen, actress Tamannaah Bhatia also assured ETimes that she will be booking her ticket to experience the 'visual spectacle' in 3D.

"I really want to watch Brahmastra in a theatre because it is a spectacle. It's something you want to experience on the large screen. I definitely want to watch it in 3D because it is made for that format," Tamannaah said in a candid chat at 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power' premiere.

Keeping in mind that the works of JRR Tolkien and 'The Lord Of The Rings' movies that followed played a big role in inspiring Ayan's 'Brahmastra' and even SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' franchise, we asked Tamannaah how she thought new OTT series would inspire a new generation of storytellers. She said, "I think India has a lot of stories that are yet untold and stories that are in our own mythology that are brilliant and it organically has great potential for great screenplays for any format - long format or even a feature film. I think we are in a really good time, but I hope we tap into our own Indian stories.

Come Thursday, a few lucky fans will be treated to the first-ever screening of 'Brahmastra' on the big screen. Ahead of the worldwide launch on Friday, the team announced a special fan preview at a select few theatres.

Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna with cameos from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, 'Brahmastra' will release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu.
