Tam Courts Honved exit comes after fans racist attack on rival boss as former Dundee United manager accused of 'selective hearing'

Tam Courts was axed as Honved boss just two days after their fans were accused of a sickening racist attack on the rival club's manager.

The former Dundee United boss left the Budapest club after just 14 games in charge and has already been replaced by Croatian boss Dean Klafuric, who was formerly in charge of Legia Warsaw. But it's emerged Courts' last game in charge of Honved - where he guided his side to a 2-0 win at Zalaegerszegi TE - was marred by vile monkey chants against opposition manager Ricardo Moniz by visiting Honved fans.

And the Dutch manager was so irate that he ordered his players off the pitch and has threatened to take the matter up with the Hungarian Prime Minister and UEFA. And he suggested Courts had selective hearing. Moniz said: "I told the fourth official that I would get the game stopped if the monkey noises against me didn't stop and he said he heard nothing.

"And the same was true for the referee and the opponent's manager. It's always the same here in Hungary, all very selective.

"I even got a red card for taking the players off. If that isn't rescinded, I will go to UEFA and I will go to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.

"It's a minority of about 20 per cent here who so these things. Here in Hungary, the racism problem is ten times worse than in the Netherlands, but at least the reaction so far has been good."

Hungarian FA officials are investigating the chants from the Honved fans and have vowed to take action if they can find evidence of racist abuse.
