Tallulah Willis Reveals Autism Diagnosis And Mental Health Struggles

Harry and Meghan attend event marking the World Mental Health Day in New York

Tallulah Willis revealed on Friday that she was diagnosed with autism last summer. The daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore shared an old video on Instagram of herself stroking her father’s head while walking the red carpet with him. In the caption, she hinted at her autism diagnosis, stating, 'tell me your [sic] autistic without telling me your [sic] autistic ??.'

One of her followers praised Tallulah for sharing the clip and inquired if she was diagnosed as a child. Tallulah responded that it was the 'first time' she had publicly disclosed her diagnosis, revealing that she found out about her autism last summer, which she described as life-changing. She also humorously referred to herself as 'neurospicy' in a separate comment.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a condition characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication, according to Autism Speaks. Tallulah has been open about her mental and physical health struggles, including her recent battle with anorexia.

In a recent Instagram post, she shared her struggles with romanticizing unhealthy times and how it felt to move through the day in a smaller body. Tallulah also posted before-and-after photos of her body to showcase her progress in her recovery journey.

Aside from anorexia, Tallulah has also dealt with ADHD, depression, and borderline personality disorder. She was diagnosed with the latter while undergoing treatment at Driftwood Recovery in Texas in June 2022. Despite her father's dementia diagnosis, Tallulah spent four months at the treatment center at the insistence of her parents, aiming to bring harmony to her family and alleviate their worries.
