Residents of a Tallaght area are planning to make a massive gesture of support to a well-liked postman who will be retiring this year.
Tymonville locals have arranged a giant card for "hardworking" postman John ahead of his retirement in August.
The residents' association has asked people to come down and sign the card and donate a small amount if they wish in July.
The exact date for the collection will be announced on social media once the card arrives.
A heartwarming post on the Tymonville Residents' Association Facebook page reads: "As some of you may know, our incredibly hard-working postman John is retiring in August.
"As a thank you from Tymonville for the hard work, rain, snow or shine, we are arranging a GIANT retirement card for John that residents are welcome to come sign.
"A resident contacted us to suggest a whiparound so in July, we'll arrange a day where residents are welcome to come down and sign the card for John and if they wish, donate a small amount to John.
"The collection will be overseen by our 2 Treasurers and Chairperson.
"Once the card arrives, we'll put up a date on our FB page."
