Tallaght petrol station robbery sees gun wielding man left red-faced after leaving with no cash

A man armed with a gun was left red-faced after a botched robbery that saw him leave with no cash.

He entered a Circle K petrol station in Tallaght this afternoon just before 4pm and demanded cash from staff.

But despite his best efforts, no cash was handed over and he left the scene with nothing.

Thankfully nobody was injured in the botched robbery and gardai confirmed investigations into the incident are continuing.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an attempted robbery at a service station in the Balrothery area of Tallaght that occurred today at approximately 3:50pm.

"It is reported that a lone male entered the premises armed with an apparent firearm and demanded cash. No cash was handed over and the man left the scene. No injuries occurred.

"Investigations are continuing."
