Tallaght mother Annmarie Hooper tragically killed in crash 'sadly missed by late baby Sofiah and daughter Katelyn' as funeral details released

The funeral details for Annmarie Hooper who was tragically killed in a car crash this week have been released.

The Tallaght mother tragically died when the car she was travelling in hit a lamppost on Butterfield Avenue in Templeogue at 1:30am on Tuesday morning.

A second person, Dean Coleman, was also killed in the car crash which is currently being investigated by the Garda Ombudsman.

The late mother's death notice was released on RIP.ie which reads: "Tragically, following an accident, beloved mother of the late Baby Sofiah; sadly missed by her loving daughter Katelyn, mother Catherine, father Alan, brothers Alan, Mark and Gary, uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law Steph and Joanne, cousins, niece, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends."

A wake will be held at Annmarie's residence from 4pm until 8pm on Saturday, December 21, and also on Sunday, December 22, from 4pm until 8pm.

The shocking death of Annmarie Hooper is the second tragedy to hit her immediate family in recent years.

She was an aunt of talented 12-year-old Tallaght footballer Kyle Finnegan who left family and friends "broken to pieces" when he died suddenly in what was believed to have been an asthma attack in 2018.

No funeral details have been released yet for Dean Coleman.

Rathfarnham Templeogue Fine Gael Councillor David McManus said that the incident deeply saddened the whole community.

He told Dublin Live: "Local people are shocked to be waking up to this tragedy on our roads.

"During the festive period, we have more people visiting family and attending events but I would encourage people to be extra cautious on the roads as the temperatures continue to drop in the weeks ahead."

He added: "On behalf of the community, I wish to extend our sympathies to the families of those involved in this morning’s tragic accident."

Rathfarnham Templeogue Green Party Councillor William Priestley added: "I live on Butterfield Avenue. It's really taken the locals aback. It's really out of character for a crash to take place in this area or for someone to be going that fast.

He added: "My thoughts go out to their families on this which is such a tragic and sad accident."

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the early hours of this morning Tuesday 17th December, 2019 at Butterfield Avenue, Templeogue.

A single vehicle collision occurred when a car left the road and collided with a lamppost.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone who travelled the road at the time of the collision, and who may have dash cam footage, to contact Gardaí in Tallaght on 01 - 6666000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
